| The
time is 1940. Jordan Wingate is a showy, dazzling pilot in the Annual
Air & Ground Show. When President Roosevelt signs a bill permitting
blacks to join the Army Air Corps, Jordan is selected as a member
of the 99th, the first black fighter squadron, training at Tuskegee
Air Base in Alabama. The brutal experience of getting their group
into the Air Corps transforms Jordan from a hot shot into a hero
who will ultimately lead the legendary Tuskegee Airmen into battle
against the German Lufftwaffe. |
